AoMRCEnhancing Engagement in Medical Leadership project, jointly led by the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges (AoMRC) and the NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement. London, England

 

The Enhancing Engagement project team has worked with doctors at all levels to research and develop the Medical Leadership Competency Framework. The framework is developed so that it is relevant to all doctors and is now working toward its integration into their curricula. It is the first shared curriculum for all doctors in training regardless of their specialty.

The Patient Voices programme was founded by Pip Hardy and Tony Sumner in 2003, aiming to facilitate the telling and hearing of some of the unwritten and unspoken stories of ordinary people so that those who devise and implement strategy in health and social care might carry out their duties in the most informed and compassionate manner possible.

 

PradipPradip Kumar Sarkar, Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, England

 

Mr Sarkar has, for the past 15 years, dedicated his work to transforming junior doctors into fine cardiac surgeons. The training is done in a safe environment and he maintains an excellent surgical outcome as reported by the Care Quality Commission.

 

 

STeLISimulation and Technology-enhanced Learning Initiative (STeLI), London Deanery, England

 

STeLI is a flagship initiative of London Deanery and helps support NHS London’s ‘Excellence in Education’ strategy. Launched in 2008, STeLI has promoted the use of powerful educational technologies such as e-learning and simulation to reinvigorate the delivery of healthcare professional workforce training and to maintain high quality service delivery.
